1. The Circular Bio-based Economy Joint Undertaking (CBE JU 2025)
Opened on April 4, 2025 the CBE JU will deploy €165 million to promote a competitive bioeconomy for a sustainable Europe.

CBE JU 2025 aims to foster the development, upscaling and deployment of new, disruptive and innovative technologies and processes to use available sources of sustainable biomass to their full potential and turn them into sustainable and circular biobased products.

2. LIFE Programme
LIFE Programme! The LIFE Programme is the European Union’s funding instrument dedicated exclusively to supporting environmental, climate, and energy objectives. For the 2021-2027 funding period, LIFE has a total budget of €5.4 billion.

3. Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS)
Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS), which has opened its 2025 Big Tickets Call, is offering a total budget of €135 million to fund groundbreaking research and innovation projects in the coal and steel sectors.
The RFCS Big Tickets Call is a game-changer for organizations aiming to lead innovation in these critical sectors while contributing to Europe’s climate neutrality goals by 2050. With substantial funding per project—ranging from €5 million to €18 million for large-scale demonstrators—this call provides an unparalleled opportunity to scale transformative solutions.

Eligibility
- Open to universities, research centers, companies, and consortia based in EU Member States or associated countries.
- Projects must achieve a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7-8 by the end of the funding period.
SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking (SESAR 3 JU)
SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking (SESAR 3 JU), part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, has launched several calls under the Digital European Sky Industrial Research 02 (DES-IR-02). These new calls aim to accelerate the transformation of Europe’s air traffic management (ATM) system, making it more digital, efficient, sustainable, and resilient.
There are currently 14 calls open under this initiative, with €230 million of funding for each one of them (more than €3 billion in budget).
