Results from the latest EIC call have been published, with more than €400M in funding to support 68 disruptive innovations. The call, which took place in March, has been recently resolved.
The EIC received 969 full proposals, out of which 347 passed to the interview phase (roughly 36% of the companies made it to Step 2):
- From these 347 finalists, the jury selected 68 to receive funding (19% success rate at the Step 2 phase),
- The geographic focus spreads across 17 countries, being Germany (19%) and France (19%) the top countries,
- Blended finance has been again the most awarded funding type (96%).
- The overall success rate from Step 2 is 7%. The success rate in Step 1 has not been disclosed.
Funding Types in the March 2024 call
Blended finance has been chosen by 96% of the winners, the highest rate since the EIC Accelerator was launched. Only two companies out of 68 chose the ‘grant only’ type of finance and only one chose ‘equity only’:

The awardees’ geographical focus spreads across 17 countries, including 5 proposals that come from widening countries. 21% of winners are women-led.

44% of the awarded projects belong to the New deep- tech area, 32% to Health and 24% to Environment.

Wiithin the Environment & Sustainability area are quite diverse, covering verticals such as energy supply, decarbonization technologies, and food supply.
Within the New Deep-Tech areaprojects are also very diverse and develop technologies such as AI, robotics, space, or quantum technology, among others. This area has seen a notable increase in the latest calls, but specially in this one, with very varied projects.
